Siemens Healthineers Advances Mammography with New Features on the Mammomat B.brilliant

Published Date: November 30, 2025

Just one year after introducing the groundbreaking Mammomat B.brilliant system, Siemens Healthineers is preparing to expand its capabilities with ClearCEM and ClearCEM Biopsy, two new features designed to elevate accuracy, efficiency and diagnostic confidence in contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM).

ClearCEM* and ClearCEM Biopsy* are Siemens Healthineers’ next-generation CEM solutions for more diagnostic confidence and improved access to advanced breast imaging. “It's really exciting to offer these advancements in contrast-enhanced mammography so patients can get faster diagnoses in an affordable option,” said Christie Devine, product manager for Women’s Health at Siemens Healthineers North America.

Using a new imaging algorithm, ClearCEM delivers higher lesion contrast, more uniform backgrounds and fewer artifacts – making suspicious areas easier to see in seconds. “A ClearCEM exam delivers the confidence that radiologists need to determine if there’s something to worry about,” said Devine.

Unlike copper filters that require cooling breaks, Siemens’ unique titanium filter distributes heat more efficiently and eliminates the need for cooling, allowing ClearCEM to enable unlimited exams and boost patient throughput in busy breast imaging departments and practices.

For radiologists, ClearCEM provides clearer visualization, reduces false positives and false negatives, and offers fast exams – typically under 10 minutes. It delivers results that rival the diagnostic performance of breast MR at a fraction of the time and cost. “With its improved imaging algorithm, ClearCEM creates a more uniform image impression that helps radiologists read with greater confidence. It also helps address MR access limitations, giving clinicians and patients an alternative for delivering contrast-enhanced breast imaging,” said Devine.

Central to the Mammomat B.brilliant system’s impact is Siemens Healthineers’ wide-angle tomosynthesis, which addresses the challenge of overlapping tissue in breast imaging that often results in false positives and false negatives. “With a wider angle, we can deliver up to three-and-a-half times the tissue separation than a traditional system, which improves clinical confidence,” said Devine.

ClearCEM Biopsy relies on this wide-angle tomosynthesis to extend the clinical benefits of ClearCEM into biopsies. “This combination gives radiologists greater confidence in their sampling and helps reduce false positives and false negatives. Ultimately, it’s about ensuring clinicians can trust the results and patients receive an accurate, reliable diagnosis,” said Devine.>
