RSNA 2025 President’s Address Highlights Vision of Precision Medicine, Community, and Innovation

Published Date: December 1, 2025

As the radiology community prepares to gather at RSNA 2025, this year’s meeting theme sets the tone: a celebration of the shared connections that unite us, balanced by the individuality that defines each patient, clinician, and discovery. With rapid advances in medical science reshaping the future of care, the meeting will spotlight how precision medicine is translating scientific breakthroughs into more personalized and effective treatments.

The plenary program opens Sunday afternoon with RSNA President Umar Mahmood, MD, PhD, delivering his Presidential Address, setting the stage for a dynamic week of education, collaboration and innovation. Following his remarks, Geoffrey Ginsburg, MD, PhD, will speak on the NIH’s All of Us Research Program and its transformative role in enabling tailored disease prevention and treatment strategies through population-wide data.

Monday brings a crucial focus on physician well-being as Tait Shanafelt, MD, addresses clinical burnout and evidence-based approaches to promote resilience and professional fulfillment in healthcare settings. On Tuesday, sociologist and technology scholar Zeynep Tufekci, PhD, MA, will examine the true challenges posed by artificial intelligence, while Alexander Drzezga, MD, will explore the role of molecular imaging in diagnosing neurodegenerative disorders.

The meeting’s hallmark blend of science and engagement continues throughout the week. Tuesday features the AAPM-led session on groundbreaking imaging technologies—including cone-beam breast CT and multi-source X-ray array platforms—developed through multidisciplinary collaboration. Attendees can also test their diagnostic acumen during the Image Interpretation Session or participate in The PACS and the Furious: An RSNA Family Feud, an interactive game show-style plenary that returns by popular demand.

Fast 5 presentations will offer rapid-fire insights into non-clinical radiology topics, selected with input from the RSNA community. Meanwhile, the Learning Center will host an array of high-impact research in its theater sessions, with themes including image-guided oncology therapies, low- and no-contrast techniques, and opportunistic screening innovations.

Throughout the week, attendees are encouraged to explore hundreds of science posters and educational exhibits, reflecting radiology’s broad and evolving subspecialties. The Art of Imaging exhibition will offer a creative lens on the field, showcasing works that celebrate the intersection of art and science.

The Exhibit Hall remains a central hub for discovery, featuring the AI Showcase—RSNA’s premier destination for machine learning, deep learning, and clinical AI innovations. Interoperability demonstrations will further highlight real-world applications of AI to streamline workflows and improve patient care. On Tuesday afternoon, the Exhibit Hall Social invites attendees to engage directly with vendors and peers in a more casual setting.

The excitement continues Wednesday evening with RSNA After Dark, the meeting’s signature social event. Featuring music, light fare, and dancing, it provides a chance to unwind and connect with colleagues in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.

“With every discovery we share and every conversation we have, we move closer to a future where precision medicine is not just a vision—but a reality,” said Dr. Mahmood. “It has been an honor to serve as RSNA President, and I look forward to joining you in celebrating all that RSNA 2025 has to offer.”

From groundbreaking science to memorable moments with peers, RSNA 2025 promises a week of inspiration, insight, and impact.
