Philips Cardiovascular Workspace Gains FDA Clearance, Adds Cloud-Hosted Deployment and AI Readiness

Published Date: November 14, 2025

Philips Healthcare has received FDA 510(k) clearance for the latest version of its Cardiovascular Workspace, marking a significant step forward in cloud-based imaging and information management. With the new update, the platform now supports cloud hosting and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment, giving health systems greater flexibility and scalability in managing cardiovascular data.

By leveraging the Philips HealthSuite digital platform, the cloud-enabled Cardiovascular Workspace allows providers to access imaging and patient data remotely while streamlining documentation, analysis, and reporting. This update aligns with the broader healthcare IT shift toward cloud infrastructure, which is being driven by the need to simplify software updates, lower operational costs, and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

“Our cloud-enabled Cardiovascular Workspace provides the foundation for future AI enabled tools and workflow insights across the cardiology care continuum,” said Madhuri Sebastian, business leader for imaging informatics at Philips. “With cloud deployment, we are enabling secure remote reading and improving efficiency. Our approach is a true differentiator, because it unlocks the ability to scale and innovate through large datasets.”

The Cardiovascular Workspace integrates with Philips’ broader HealthSuite offerings, including its radiology PACS platform, to create a more unified and efficient imaging workflow. The new cloud functionality is built in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), offering enhanced security, scalability, and AI integration capabilities.

“In cardiovascular care especially, the ability to scale innovation depends on unlocking the power of data through secure, cloud-enabled solutions across the entire care continuum,” said Dr. Rowland Illing, chief medical officer and director of healthcare and life sciences at AWS. “Philips is building the kind of integrated data ecosystem that empowers clinicians with actionable insights and delivers measurable impact for patients.”

With this latest release, Philips positions its Cardiovascular Workspace as a future-ready solution designed to support cardiology teams with remote access, integrated AI tools, and a more efficient, scalable infrastructure—all while enhancing clinical workflows and maintaining high standards for data security and interoperability.
