Konica Minolta Highlights Expanding Clinical Value of Dynamic Digital Radiography with Seven Presentations at RSNA
Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc. announced that Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) will be the focus of seven scientific presentations at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2025 Annual Meeting, taking place November 30 to December 4 in Chicago. This marks the fifth consecutive year DDR has been featured at RSNA and the first time it will be included in three oral sessions, including two within the prestigious late-breaking Science Session on Next-Generation Imaging.
DDR is an advanced cineradiographic X-ray technology that captures up to 15 sequential radiographic frames per second and reconstructs them into a cine loop, allowing clinicians to visualize anatomy in motion. This innovative, low-dose technique provides dynamic insight into physiological function using a standard radiographic system, expanding the diagnostic capabilities of conventional digital X-ray without the need for contrast agents or invasive procedures.
This year’s presentations demonstrate DDR’s application across a wide range of cardiopulmonary conditions. Research topics include its use in imaging interstitial lung disease, emphysema, pulmonary embolism, lung cancer, and perfusion and ventilation abnormalities. The studies collectively highlight DDR’s potential as a contrast-free tool for evaluating pulmonary blood flow, identifying functional impairments in ventilation, and visualizing respiratory dynamics—even in critical care environments where portable imaging is essential.
According to John Sabol, PhD, Clinical Research Manager at Konica Minolta Healthcare, the international scope of this year’s research—featuring contributions from institutions in Japan, China, India, and Italy—reflects growing global interest in DDR. “Konica Minolta congratulates the authors on the acceptance of their DDR research studies for presentation at RSNA 2025, the largest worldwide gathering of radiology professionals all year,” said Dr. Sabol. “The adoption of DDR is accelerating globally, and these studies further demonstrate that DDR delivers on RSNA’s vision for Imaging the Individual and the importance of tailoring imaging to the patient and their condition to realize the potential of precision medicine.”
Several of the presented studies emphasize DDR’s ability to support personalized care, offering clinicians real-time functional information to better guide diagnostic and therapeutic decisions. Notably, the lack of contrast use in chest imaging studies positions DDR as a safer and more accessible method for cardiac and pulmonary assessments—particularly important in vulnerable patient populations.
Konica Minolta will be showcasing DDR at RSNA 2025 in Booth #2165.
