Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc. has announced the release of its most advanced Exa® Platform to date, unveiling major updates to its Exa PACS|RIS solution. This new iteration features a cutting-edge API platform designed to facilitate seamless integration with premier third-party solutions. This strategic move supports Konica Minolta’s vision of enhancing the Exa PACS|RIS core by creating a broader ecosystem of best-in-class tools that promote customer success through interoperability.

A key highlight of the release is the introduction of Exa Advanced Imaging, which brings upgraded Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR) capabilities and enables full 3D image reconstruction and segmentation—all within the Exa PACS viewer. Clinicians can now access these sophisticated imaging tools directly, eliminating the need to toggle between applications, which reduces workflow friction and allows more focus on patient care.

Further strengthening the platform’s capabilities, Exa PACS|RIS now includes NewVue, a cloud-based, AI-enhanced radiologist worklist and workflow coordinator designed to optimize productivity and reduce burnout. It also incorporates Clearpath Technologies, a digital solution for securely sharing medical records and imaging across stakeholders—patients, providers, legal entities, and more. Additionally, Quinsite’s Comprehensive Healthcare Analytics Platform™integrates into the system, empowering healthcare providers with meaningful data insights to drive smarter, evidence-based decisions.

“Confident diagnosis requires more than a single imaging study—it demands the right information, in the right place, at the right time,” said Matthew Andersen, Executive Director of Product Management at Konica Minolta HCIT. “Our next-generation Exa PACS|RIS delivers powerful clinical and workflow tools, transforming data into actionable insights for smarter decision-making.”

The new version builds upon the momentum from the November 2024 launch of Exa Enterprise, a comprehensive solution that integrates PACS and a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) through a universal viewer across clinical specialties. Developed in partnership with Apollo Enterprise Imaging, Exa Enterprise incorporates Apollo's arcc® platform to offer robust tools for workflow management, image viewing, and storage across radiology and other medical fields.
