Hitachi Healthcare Americas acquires VidiStar

Hitachi Healthcare Americas Corporation of Twinsburg, OH, has acquired VidiStar, a company that developed a web-based diagnostic viewer and customizable structured reporting solution for medical imaging and clinical decision support. The company’s technology enables physicians and other healthcare providers with the ability to review and interpret diagnostic studies via the internet.

In the announcement of the acquisition, Hitachi stated that it expects the acquisition of VidiStar to advance its informatics strategy and analytics capabilities to improve workflow and intelligence for physicians, particularly with providers conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations.

VidiStar employees will become part of the Hitachi Healthcare Americas business group, but will remain headquartered in Greenville, SC.
