Gnosis for Her Mobile Breast Imaging Unit Debuts at More Than Pink Walk
Gnosis for Her, a new mobile breast health initiative focused on redefining comfort and access in women’s imaging, made its national debut at Susan G. Komen’s More Than Pink Walk at Fashion Island this past weekend. Over 6,000 attendees, including breast cancer survivors, families, and advocates, were able to tour the Mobile Care Unit and meet the expert team behind the innovative service.
The unit features the Koning Vera Breast CT scanner, a cutting-edge 3D imaging system designed to serve as an alternative to traditional mammography and diagnostic ultrasound. Unlike conventional methods, the Vera scanner provides 360-degree imaging without compression, offering a pain-free experience and higher clarity—particularly helpful when mammograms are inconclusive. The technology is especially beneficial for women with dense breast tissue, implants, or abnormal findings, and for those considered high-risk.
"We built Gnosis for Her to meet women where they are, and to make breast imaging feel respectful, clear, and comfortable," said Matt Collins, CEO of Gnosis for Her. "So many women avoid annual mammograms because of fear or pain. Our approach turns that experience into one of empowerment and ease."
Discomfort remains a major barrier to screening. A study in the Journal of the American College of Radiology found that nearly one in six women avoid mammograms due to pain or discomfort. This is particularly concerning given that over 297,000 women in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Gnosis for Her aims to provide a compassionate reentry point for women who have delayed essential screenings out of fear or previous negative experiences.
The Mobile Care Unit will begin seeing patients in November. Promotional pricing ranges from $389 to $449, with the standard service cost set at $499. Patients may also seek reimbursement through insurance or HSA/FSA accounts.
"With no compression and high-resolution images delivered in seconds, this technology allows us to provide dignity alongside diagnostics," said Dr. Margaret Bredehoft, Chief Development Officer of Gnosis for Her. "It's not just another breast exam, it's a new care experience. Every woman who stepped into our unit walked away with reassurance, not anxiety. That's the future we're building."
To further raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gnosis for Her will bring its Mobile Care Unit to communities across Southern California. The initiative will host a series of "Sip & See" events—relaxed gatherings where guests can meet the care team, enjoy refreshments, and tour the unit in a low-pressure environment.
Upcoming events include appearances at Bella Terra's Spooky Boo Vendor Pop-Up Market and the California Wine Fest at Pacific City, both taking place on Saturday, October 18 in Huntington Beach. These events offer women a first-hand look at a new, more comfortable approach to breast health.
