Canon Medical Showcases Fully Integrated MRI Ecosystem with AI-Enhanced Workflow at RSNA 2025
Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is highlighting its vertically integrated MRI portfolio at the upcoming RSNA 2025 meeting, demonstrating how in-house design and manufacturing of key components—alongside a streamlined AI-powered workflow—can elevate system performance and operational efficiency. Attendees can explore Canon’s MRI innovations at Booth #7313.
With control over the development of essential hardware such as magnets and radiofrequency (RF) coils for both 1.5T and 3T systems, Canon has built a cohesive MRI platform engineered for performance consistency. This hardware foundation is seamlessly connected to Canon’s proprietary post-processing tools, Vitrea and Olea, creating a unified imaging pathway from scan acquisition to final diagnostic interpretation.
“Our control over the engineering and manufacturing process allows us to design and optimize the MRI system to achieve a consistent performance profile,” said Mark Totina, Director of Canon’s MR Business Unit. “We believe that when our magnets, gradients, and coils are matched with our AI software, it can help reduce integration challenges and is designed to deliver a greater level of performance.”
Canon’s end-to-end MRI solution incorporates an AI-enhanced workflow that activates before a scan even begins. This includes a ceiling-mounted camera for guided patient positioning, Auto Scan Assist with AI Slice Alignment to standardize setup, and Iterative Motion Correction (IMC) to reduce the need for repeat scans due to patient movement. Image quality is further boosted by Canon’s Deep Learning-based AiCE and PIQE engines, used in over 550,000 cases to date.
The clinical value of this integration is already being demonstrated in practice. At Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging (SDMI), the Canon Galan Supreme Edition 3T MRI system has supported nearly 3,000 patient exams since its May 2025 installation—averaging 20 studies per day. Integrated AI tools like AiCE and PIQE help maintain image consistency while optimizing throughput.
Looking ahead, Canon is extending its Version 10 software upgrade—originally launched for its 3T systems—to its latest 1.5T platforms, including the Vantage Orian and Vantage Fortian. This move brings advanced post-processing and workflow capabilities to a broader range of clinical settings, reinforcing Canon’s commitment to delivering scalable imaging performance across its entire MRI lineup.
