RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a leading U.S. provider of diagnostic imaging services and digital health solutions, has announced the acquisition of Alpha RT, a company known for its expertise in remote MRI operations. The move marks a strategic expansion of RadNet’s remote imaging capabilities and pairs Alpha RT’s staffing and training solutions with DeepHealth’s existing FDA-cleared TechLive™ remote scanning platform.

With this acquisition, RadNet now offers a consolidated suite of tools and services aimed at tackling one of the imaging industry's most pressing issues: maintaining high-quality care amid growing patient demand and a national shortage of imaging technologists. The combined offering brings together AI-powered safety features, remote staffing, operational optimization, and scalable training programs under one integrated umbrella.

At the center of the portfolio is DeepHealth’s TechLive™ system, a remote scanning technology that allows technologists to perform or oversee MR, CT, PET, and ultrasound procedures from centralized command centers. In a recent pilot, TechLive™ achieved a remote scan recall rate of just 0.06%—without compromising image quality—and led to a 42% drop in MRI room closures, helping imaging sites maintain their schedules more efficiently.

Alpha RT adds a robust layer of support with its real-time, AI-driven safety alerts designed to monitor the MRI suite for potentially hazardous situations. Its remote staffing services are vendor-agnostic, giving imaging providers flexible access to qualified MRI technologists when and where they are needed. The company also offers a structured MRI Tech Aide Certification program as part of its comprehensive training curriculum, helping to upskill the workforce and maintain high standards of care.

Another key feature of Alpha RT’s contribution is its intelligent scheduling and resource allocation system. This functionality enables centralized matching of technologists to specific imaging needs, enhancing operational efficiency across distributed imaging networks.

“Rising patient demand for radiology services, coupled with a shortage of imaging technologists, is creating a significant challenge for imaging providers,” said Dr. Howard Berger, President and CEO of RadNet. “Through this acquisition, we are now able to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of remote-scanning solutions for both external DeepHealth customers and for the RadNet network of imaging centers—empowering each to keep pace with growing industry procedural volumes while maintaining the highest standard of patient care.”

RadNet’s approach of piloting innovations within its own imaging centers has proven successful, according to Kees Wesdorp, CEO of the company’s Digital Health Division. “We first validated TechLive™ and remote scanning within the RadNet network, where we continue to drive measurable operating improvements across several hundred imaging centers,” he said. “With Alpha RT, we can now deliver services to those imaging centers that need technologist staffing as well.”

The combined offering will be featured at the upcoming Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2025 Annual Meeting, where DeepHealth will demonstrate the expanded remote imaging portfolio at Booth #1329. The conference runs from November 30 to December 4 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
