Koning Health is taking stock of a landmark Breast Cancer Awareness Month marked by clinical expansion, international recognition, and educational outreach—all part of the company’s broader goal to reimagine breast imaging and make early detection more accessible around the world.

Throughout the month, Koning’s initiatives have spanned coast to coast and beyond, from new imaging site installations in the U.S. to the achievement of international quality certifications, all centered around one mission: to improve the patient experience and close gaps in breast cancer detection.

Expanding Access in Urban, Academic, and Mobile Settings

October brought notable growth in Koning’s U.S. footprint, with the deployment of its Vera Breast CT system across three distinct care environments:

  • In California, Gnosis Dx launched a mobile breast imaging platform powered by the Vera CT scanner, bringing diagnostics directly into underserved communities. The mobile clinic aims to reduce barriers to early detection in areas where access to imaging remains limited.

  • In New York City, Pink Medical opened its Upper East Side location with a high-profile ribbon-cutting event. Designed as a boutique imaging center, it brings breast CT into a patient-friendly, premium environment.

  • At Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, one of Florida’s premier hospitals, Koning’s Vera system has been installed for both clinical use and ongoing research into the role of breast CT in precision detection.

“Each new installation represents far more than the placement of advanced technology—it's a step toward changing the patient experience and expanding access to earlier, more accurate detection,” said David Georges, President of Koning US. “Seeing the Vera system now operating in leading centers like Mount Sinai in Miami, innovative mobile platforms like Gnosis in California, and boutique imaging environments like Pink Medical in New York City demonstrates how breast CT is reshaping care across every setting.”

Global Milestones in Quality and Regulatory Standards

Koning also marked several international achievements in October, reinforcing its leadership in breast CT technology on the global stage. The company remains the sole manufacturer of a breast CT system with FDA clearance for diagnostic use in the U.S., while also making regulatory inroads in other major markets.

Koning’s progress includes:

  • Regulatory momentum with Australia’s TGA and Europe’s GMED for CE Mark approval

  • ISO 13485 certification from GMED, confirming adherence to international safety and quality standards

  • Preparation for MDSAP certification, enabling access to broader markets including Brazil, Japan, and Canada

These developments highlight Koning’s dual focus on innovation and compliance, building a foundation for future global expansion.

Investing in Clinical Education and Community Engagement

To support adoption and best practices in breast CT, Koning has developed Koning Academy, an online education platform for radiologists, technologists, and healthcare professionals. The Academy offers interactive coursework, expert-led sessions, and clinical case studies to help users gain proficiency with the Vera Breast CT system.

Participants can also connect through the Breast CT Forum on LinkedIn—a professional community where peers share insights and discuss advances in breast imaging.

Looking Ahead to RSNA 2025

Koning will continue its momentum into the RSNA 2025 Annual Meeting, where it will showcase the Vera Breast CT system at booth #2980 in partnership with distributor Swissray International. Attendees will have the chance to explore the system’s ability to produce true 3D images without the discomfort of breast compression.

Beyond the exhibit hall, Koning views the RSNA meeting as an opportunity to deepen ties with clinicians, researchers, and international partners as the company prepares for broader market adoption and regulatory growth.

From mobile screening units to global certification, October has marked a turning point for Koning Health. As the company looks ahead, its focus remains clear: transforming breast imaging through innovation, access, and a commitment to more compassionate care.
