Handheld ultrasound system from Butterfly Network receives CE Mark

The Butterfly iQ, a handheld, single-probe, whole body ultrasound system from Butterfly Network of Guilford, CT, has received CE Mark clearance. It will be available for sale in Europe, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand as early as summer months in 2019, according to the company.

The system. which uses patented Ultrasound-On-Chip™ technology, received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has been sold in the United States since 2018.
