Gentuity and GE HealthCare Join Forces to Advance Intravascular Imaging for Cardiology
Gentuity LLC, a Massachusetts-based medical technology company known for next-generation intravascular imaging devices, has announced a new collaboration with GE HealthCare aimed at boosting the availability, adoption, and functionality of complementary imaging solutions for interventional cardiology.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work together on co-marketing initiatives and pursue technical integration between their respective technologies. GE HealthCare will also explore ways to expand access to Gentuity’s portfolio through its U.S. distribution network.
Gentuity’s key products include:
-
High-Frequency OCT Imaging System – a mobile console that uses machine learning for rapid setup and highly detailed vessel imaging.
-
Vis-Rx® Prime Micro-Imaging Catheter – at just 1.8F, it is the smallest imaging catheter in the world, designed to capture comprehensive vessel images before and after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.
Desmond Adler, President of Gentuity, emphasized the value of pairing complementary technologies in this space. “We are thrilled at the opportunity to expand our relationship with GE HealthCare and look forward to bringing our advanced imaging solutions to a broader range of healthcare providers,” Adler said. “Our industry best serves our physicians and patients when we thoughtfully combine complementary technologies in a way that amplifies their individual impact, and we see this collaboration as an important enabling step in that direction.”
Since its founding in 2015, Gentuity has established itself as a leader in advanced intravascular imaging technology. The company’s proprietary platform combines artificial intelligence with user-centric design to streamline procedures, reduce the operator’s workload, and improve procedural success rates. Its technology is intended to expand the clinical benefits and cost-efficiency of intravascular imaging to a broader patient population, potentially enabling earlier intervention and improved long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
GE HealthCare views the partnership as an important step toward its mission in cardiovascular care. “At GE HealthCare, we strive to tell the story of the heart through technologies that help diagnose, treat and monitor cardiovascular conditions,” said Jyoti Gera, CEO of CardioVascular and Interventional Solutions at GE HealthCare. “This joint initiative with Gentuity supports this mission and reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality medical devices that enhance patient outcomes and quality of life.”
The collaboration holds the potential to accelerate the integration of cutting-edge imaging solutions into interventional cardiology workflows. By leveraging GE HealthCare’s broad reach and Gentuity’s innovative device portfolio, healthcare providers could soon gain greater access to detailed, real-time vessel imaging tools that improve the precision and safety of procedures such as PCI.
This move also underscores the industry’s shift toward partnerships that unite complementary strengths—pairing large-scale distribution capabilities with specialized, high-performance devices. For physicians, it could mean easier access to advanced imaging that supports better clinical decisions; for patients, it promises faster diagnoses, safer interventions, and potentially improved cardiovascular outcomes.
