CMS Approves ACR Lung Cancer Screening Registry

The American College of Radiology has announced that radiologists submitting data to its Lung Cancer Screening Registry Providers can now meet Medicare quality reporting requirements to receive payment for computed tomography (CT) lung cancer screening. The ACR Lung Cancer Screening Registry™ is part of the ACR National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR) that the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid has recognized for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS).
Resources available from the ACR relating to initiating and operating lung cancer screening programs include:
- The ACR Lung Cancer Screening Center program that is designed to help ensure these exams are provided safely and effectively
