CIRS launches MRI Distortion Check Software

Computerized Imaging Reference Systems (CIRS), a manufacturer of tissue equivalent phantoms and simulators for medical imaging and radiation therapy, has introduced new cloud-based software designed to rapidly and automatically quantify distortion in MRI images. The software is used in conjunction with CIRS MRI Grid phantoms.

The MRI Distortion Check software provides the capability to rapidly and accurately measure distortion throughout the entire image volume. After automatically detecting thousands of grid intersections, the software registers either a CAD or CT scan ground truth to these MR detected gcontrol points. An interpolation is then performed to generate 3D distortion vector fields.

The results can be reported in a variety of output formats, including scatter plots, contour plots, box and whisker plots and DICOM overlays that can be imported to TPS or other third party software. The software algorithms will work with grid configuration. CIRS utilizes proprietary 3D printing techniques that enable easy modification of grid phantoms.
