New CT protocols for pediatric chest and abdomen released by AAPM

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM)’s Alliance for Quality Computed Tomography (AQCT) has released new protocols for routine pediatric computed tomography (CT) examinations and routine pediatric abdomen and pelvis CT examinations.

AQT is a working group of AAPM which consists of academic and consulting medical physicists who specialize in CT imaging and liaison representatives for the American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The group also includes representatives of each of the major manufacturers of CT scanners.

The new protocols may be accessed by clicking here for the pediatric CT examinations and here for the pediatric abdomen and pelvis CT examinations.
