Fujifilm to Debut Updates, New Innovations at RSNA 2024
FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation is unveiling several new medical imaging systems at the 2024 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Conference, including a 1.5T MRI system with workflow enhancements developed through the use of artificial intelligence (AI), an open 0.4T MRI system, a next-generation ultrasound system that leverages cognitive technology for deep tissue visualization, two digital radiography (DR) suites, and an all-in-one, compact fluoroscopy C-arm. The company will also highlight a few of the company’s latest information technology (IT) advancements, including the Synapse Viewer eXtension (VX), an elective, native PACS application that delivers a seamless and consistent user experience centered on speed, and the Synapse Worklist Orchestrator, an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven PACS workflow optimization application that automates worklist assignments and enhances peer review.
“Fujifilm’s unwavering dedication to innovation and focus on improving patient outcomes are at the forefront of this year’s RSNA,” said Henry Izawa, president and chief executive officer, FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation. “We’re looking forward to showcasing how our leading-edge technologies are engineered to improve the performance and workflow of our customer’s diagnostic imaging capabilities, provide shorter procedure times, and enhance the overall patient experience.”
The recently launched Version 10 (v10) suite of innovations for the ECHELON Synergy includes technologies like Synergy DLR Clear, Synergy Vision with StillShot and automated scanning enhancements, technologists can deliver clear, high-quality images with reduced motion artifacts and reduced retakes.
With its 0.4T permanent magnet, featuring a unique single pillar open sided design, APERTO Lucent brings an economical and compact MRI with no shortage of advanced capabilities. The system includes a comprehensive RADAR motion compensation suite, RF fat suppression, and non-contrast MRA capability, supporting high-quality imaging for a wide range of clinical applications.
Fujifilm will highlight new features for its flagship, fully automated DR suite, FDR Visionary Suite Digital Radiography Room, including a camera built in the collimator, which provides real-time patient video on its new tube display and at the control panel to assist positioning accuracy.
Launching in 2025, the FDR Clinica X Floor Stand with Auto Scoliosis Stitching compact floor-mounted system introduces Automated Long-Length Imaging for scoliosis, pending regulatory clearances, a feature typically unavailable in floor-mounted systems.
Fujifilm will be highlighting the SCENARIA View 128-Slice CT Scanner’s expanded motion correction reconstruction capabilities through Body StillShot and Cardio StillShot. At RSNA, the company will highlight new features of the Persona CS Mobile Fluoroscopy System that will be available in 2025, including an upgraded 5kW generator, and a high resolution, 4K, 27-inch surgical viewing monitor with enhanced arm articulation.
“Our enterprise imaging product strategy is aligned with the needs of our Synapse user community, and it’s the continuous customer collaboration we engage in throughout the year that drives the product innovation we will be highlighting at this year’s exhibit,” says Bill Lacy, senior vice president, medical informatics, FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation. “We’re looking forward to highlighting our new product innovations which further expand the breadth of our enterprise imaging portfolio, including the powerful new performance and workflow features like Synapse VX, which can now be used to enhance the mammography reading experience and cardiology viewing performance. RSNA attendees will also hear more about our AI innovations across enterprise imaging, our native cloud architecture enhancements and cloud first approach, and our constant focus on performance and security.”
Available in Synapse PACS v7.4 and above, Fujifilm’s Synapse VX is an elective, native application that enhances responsiveness to user actions and provides resiliency against external environmental variables to deliver a seamless user experience that’s centered on speed. Additional enhancements available in Synapse PACS v7.4 include extensive mammography features, such as the ability to integrate CAD into the workflow, allowing for CAD markers, MQSA compliant overlays and 3D visualization capabilities designed to help identify areas of interest in medical images, and lead to higher accuracy and better detection rates.
Fujifilm’s Synapse Worklist Orchestrator is a cloud-enabled, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven enterprise imaging solution designed to drive provider workflow efficiency, reduce clinical burnout, and improve diagnostic skillsets through multidimensional peer review. The solution uses customer-defined algorithms to automate worklist assignments, triage critical and unexpected result notifications, flag diagnostic error patterns, and share interpretations with an anonymous network of sub-specialists for more comprehensive, collaborative peer review. Synapse Worklist Orchestrator is a scalable and flexible solution that is interoperable with hospital HIS, PACS, RIS, and VR systems and extends across disciplines, including radiology, cardiology and pathology.
