Applications for the 2019 Safety FiRsT®️grant program are now being accepted by the ASRT (American Society for Radiologic Technologists) Foundation and Canon Medical Systems. The program, now in its fifth year and funded by a grant from Canon Medical, is an initiative that provides funds for radiologic technologists to improve workplace safety measures.

2018 recipients were Annette Long of OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus and  Ruth Van Davelaar of Riverside Health System in Newport News, VA.
